BACARDI
BARTENDER SCHOOL BY BACARDI & MARTINI
In 2019, my team created the brand identity and content strategy for Bartender School by Bacardi & Martini's social channels.
Bartender School by Bacardi & Martini (or BSBM) is a community for people in the hospitality industry. The goal was simple: create a friendly space where bartenders and other pros could find useful insights and share the latest industry news.
part 1. the logo
During the research and exploration phase we dived deep into rich Bacardi and Martini history. Bacardi was founded in 1862 and Martini in 1863. We had a tough task to keep their historical image and also balance it with private school look & feel. Considering the legacy of both Bacardi and Martini brands and getting inspired by the Ivy league, we have decided to incorporate those elements into the logo making it trustworthy and modern at the same time.
part 2.
typography
Paying respect to the Perpetua Std Titling Roman font used in the Bacardi brand logo, we decided to use the combination of both Serif (Almendra SC) and Sans Serif (Oswald) typefaces.
part 3. visual
We had to develop visuals which would be diverse and would have high production value and relevance to both brands.
We have chosen two main routes for visual support: photography and watercolour illustrations.
Here is selection of the test shots we have produced for the launch. Drinks are always in focus, looking appetising and estethically pleasant.
Using watercolour and ink style resonated with the process of making a cocktail, where the particular drop of a certain ingredient can change the visual characteristics of the drink.
For events and photoshoots involving people we proposed reportage style of the photography. Each visual was marked with BSBM logo.
Titles treatment
